Our Curriculum

Tulips

Two-Year-Old Class

The Tulip classroom offers a warm and nurturing environment for your child’s first experience at nursery school.

The curriculum focuses on socialisation, language development and fine and gross motor play. An emphasis is placed on arts and crafts as an educational tool: painting, play dough, crayons, markers and glue are all wonderful media for expressing creativity and individuality.

The year culminates in a colour and shape book, compiling the children’s artwork as a wonderful keepsake.

A monthly newsletter keeps parents informed of weekly themes and upcoming events and activities.

Freesias

Three-Year-Old Class

The Freesia curriculum continues to focus on the development of physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills, using hands-on experience and engagement in meaningful content. Listening skills, following directions, cooperating, independence, sharing and negotiating are encouraged.

The children’s knowledge of shapes and colours is reinforced. Early math skills such as one to one correspondence, sorting, patterns and number sense are developed. A number book is created by each child using a variety of arts & crafts media and this is taken home at the end of the year.

A monthly newsletter keeps parents informed of weekly themes, upcoming trips, events and activities.

Gymnastics, Dance and Cross Fit are supplemental activities and are offered in the afternoon programme throughout the year.

Forget-Me-Nots

Four-Year-Old Class

The Forget-Me-Not curriculum builds on the strong foundation laid in the Tulip and Freesia classes. The children are encouraged to be curious, caring and confident and all areas of development are nurtured while preparing for primary school.

An emphasis is placed on pre-writing and pre-reading skills such as letter knowledge and phonemic awareness. The children produce an alphabet book which they take home at the end of the year.

A monthly newsletter keeps parents informed of weekly themes, upcoming trips, events and activities.

Gymnastics, Dance and Cross Fit are supplemental activities and are offered in the afternoon programme throughout the year. Swimming lessons are offered in the summer term.
